Sarah (Colcord) Hobbs was the ancestress of Reuben Towle, the founder of the Franlin, Vermont branch of the Towle family of Hampton, N.H. Reuben's grandmother, Sarah Hobbs (Towle) was a granddaughter of Sarah Colcord, Edward's daughter.

Capt. Hobbs of the Colonial Army, 1755, was a descendant. Deacon Hobbs, Sarah's husband, was a pious man and lived to an advanced age, dying in Hampton.
