Martha Jane Crow, (RIN 400), the first wife of John Wesley McAbee, may have been his sister (or cousin?).

According to John Lane Crow, the Crow family was originally from Monroe County, Tennessee. Is this correct? Lived in Missouri before crossing the plains.

Adopted three orphaned boys: Newman, John, and Robert Squires. They came west with the Crow family in 1852. Sometime after arriving in California, Newman and John Squires were adopted by Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley McAbee, who came out west in the same wagon train as the Crows. Presumably, Robert was the oldest of the three boys and thus he was of legal age at the time that Newman and John were adopted by the McAbees.

Crossed in 1852 with the McAbee and Brown families.
Bought farm property in Sonoma County, and a mountain ranch near Healdsburg to run cattle.
